John Crowley has been a painter for over 30 years. Born and currently living in Boston, he is the Curator/ Exhibitions Coordinator at Boston City HalL. Starting his career as a freelance illustrator and graphic designer, Crowley felt more of a connection and sense of purpose in the work of contemporary artists. The concepts and methods he uses to produce imagery pose questions and create A dialogue that defies the illustration of a single idea.
My imagery is a visual record of both my conscious and unconscious visions. Dreams, legends, memories and my daily reality are all combined in the narrative nature of my work. The situations I depict can be personal and private, or public and universal in scope. First and foremost I make art that interests me and hopefully I will make a meaningful connection with the viewer.
